an isolated nucleic acid sequence operably linked to the promoter for expressing an exogenous XPO1A protein in the plant, the plant cell, the plant material or the seed of the plant, wherein the isolated nucleic acid sequence encodes an XPO1A protein of SEQ ID NO: 11,
wherein the plant, the plant cell, the plant material or the seed of the plant that expresses the exogenous XPO1A protein has basal thermotolerance under long-term high temperature stress and sudden heat shock condition.
